ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – New details have been released about a fatal shooting that occurred overnight at the Bethel Housing Complex in Albany. According to the Albany Police Department, officers responded to the 500 block of Swift Street at around 9:12 p.m. in reference to a shooting. The investigation revealed that 28-year-old Emroy Jones Jr. went to his child’s mother’s residence and found 25-year-old Morris Rogers inside.

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – WALB is working to gather more information after a man was fatally shot multiple times in Albany. According to Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler, one person is dead following a shooting at Bethel Apartments. The victim, identified as 27-year-old Emoroy Jones Jr., was shot multiple times and later died at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. At this time, there is no information about a suspect or whether anyone is in custody.

(WALB) - Each South Georgia town has a landmark that is a symbol of the city’s charm and contributions to the state overall. In 1963, a 38-and-a-half-foot tall totem pole stood here in downtown Moultrie. Now all that’s left is this plaque and the memory of the man that carved it. That memory is being preserved by local historians like Faye Bridwell.
