Central Alabama is on alert as weather conditions are set to shift dramatically, with the potential for dense fog this morning and a looming heat wave next week. The National Weather Service issued a forecast indicating medium to high chances of fog with visibilities less than one mile across the northern half of Central Alabama. As the day progresses, a subtropical ridge will move eastward, ushering in a hot and humid pattern.

As of Wednesday evening, a cluster of storms is beginning to develop over Arkansas & weather Tennessee. Should these hold together, this becomes our rain threat and it will come early in the day. Rough timing puts a line near HWY 278 by 7 AM, working south towards the metro by 9 AM and eventually south of Clanton around noon. Being in the morning, the severe threat is relatively low, the atmosphere will be stable with little to no time for daytime heating.
