    (WTAJ) — July 14 is the new date that Bishop McCort Jax Forrest is circling on his calendar to try and make the 2025 Senior World Championships. Forrest had his Final X match, which decides Team USA, delayed earlier this week due to a request from his opponent, Vito Arujau. Their world trials championship match will now move from New Jersey to North Dakota to be held alongside the junior nationals inside the Fargodome. Round one for the best-of-three series will begin at 4:20 p.m. (EST).

    LORETTO, PA (WTAJ) — Saint Francis basketball coach Luke McConnell laughs thinking about the message he sent his cousin T.J. after the Indiana Pacers won the Eastern Conference Finals. “I literally think my text was, ‘Dude, you’re in the NBA Finals’ and he’s like, ‘I know, right?’ Like crazy.,” he recalls. Luke is in his first season as head coach at his alma mater, Saint Francis University. His cousin T.J. has played in the NBA for a decade and Thursday made his NBA Finals debut.

The Steelers are now hoping that investment will pay off in 2025. “All the teams that end up winning on Sundays usually starts up front,” Steelers offensive tackle Troy Fautanu said. In 2023 and 2024, tackles Broderick Jones and Fautanu were first-round picks in back-to-back drafts.

    ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) – Out of 22 teams in WTAJ’s coverage area that made the PIAA playoffs for baseball or softball, only eight remain alive after the first round. The quarterfinals for all of those teams are set for Thursday, June 5. Tussey Mountain and Mount Union are the only baseball teams still in the tournament, while reigning softball champion DuBois Central Catholic headlines the six remaining softball squads.
