I barely remember what photo management used to be like before Google Photos, or maybe I've wanted to erase that bit from my memory. There were microSD cards, hours of transfer to-and-from computers and hard disks, and even more hours spent renaming photos, creating folders for different events, topics, people, trying to keep the metadata accurate, and bundling every remaining pic in a mish-mash of a "misc" folder.

I've always liked the color green. Growing up, my parents wanted me to wear red, pink, blue, and yellow, but I always wanted green clothes, and there was never enough choice. Or even a decent choice. So I gravitated towards other colors, but when someone asked me what my favorite one was, I always said green. This is why I feel best outdoors, I love hiking among the trees, and I'll pick emerald over ruby any day.

The BOOX Palma 2 is a small, lightweight, and portable e-ink reader. It runs Android 13 with full access to the Google Play Store, allowing you to use your favorite apps on a display that's easily readable outdoors while still lasting a week on a charge. I loved reading as a kid, and I still read now, though less frequently, because I tend to lose myself way too easily in books and end up neglecting work and other obligations to finish them.

Google released light "Go" versions of some of its own apps specifically for these phones, and one of them is Maps Go. On paper, there's no reason you should use this barebones version of Google Maps if you already have the full-blown app on your phone.
