    President Trump unveiled his sweeping, disastrous tariffs this past Wednesday with the same dishonest, flim-flammery that he used to bamboozle people into signing up for Trump University: a chart with phony numbers based on trade deficits--not the tariffs that other nations' put on our exports --and a made-up tariff history that would earn him an F in a high school history class.

That is apparently the view of President Trump and his national security team as they shamelessly serve up a shifting series of nonsensical and blatantly false claims, attempting to minimize, shift the blame, and explain away the serious security breach, resulting from discussing upcoming military action as well as specific attack plans during a Signal chat on their cell phones.

    The announcement of the full brackets for the men’s and women’s NCAA championship basketball tournaments on Sunday, signaled the beginning of March Madness, which provides enjoyment for even casual sports fans each year. This March, unfortunately, we also have a different and economically destructive kind of madness playing out: President Trump’s tariff madness. Tariffs are not a form of mystical economic magic that will do wonders for the American economy.
