A high-speed chase unfolded late Wednesday night in Owensboro’s east side. Around 11 PM, a Daviess County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a black 2016 Cadillac CTS racing at 74 miles per hour in a 35 zone along Old Hartford Road. The vehicle fled south, prompting a pursuit and backup call. The suspect, 20-year-old Trevor L. Aull of Owensboro, was seen discarding items before finally pulling over in the 4300 block. Authorities seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash.

An assault call Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a man ccused of deserting the Navy. On Tuesday night, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) patrol deputies responded to an assault call in the 3500 Block of Fields Road near Thruston. A female resident of the home reported being assaulted by her boyfriend, Christian Crite, who fled the home prior to deputy arrival.

A new report claims that many hospitals in Central Kentucky are below average when it comes to safety. Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that keeps track of patient safety, says that several Central Kentucky hospitals are below average in a variety of safety metrics such as patient falls and infections. Statewide, the report gave all hospitals in Kentucky an overall rating of 36th out of 50, with just under 23-percent of the state’s hospitals receiving an A grade.

A suspect was arrested by Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputies on Saturday, May 3rd, following an investigation into a reported shooting that occurred Thursday night in the 5500 block of KY 144 in Thruston. At approximately 9:45 p.m. on May 1st, DCSO patrol deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 5500 Block of KY 144.
