The Cyprus Basketball Federation (CBF) has declared the Spyros Kyprianou Sports Center ready to take its place as a co-host of the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket tournament, following a major renovation project that has reinforced its position as the country’s largest indoor arena. Latvia, Cyprus and Finland were announced as host countries for EuroBasket 2025 in March 2022, with Poland was added as a host nation in September of that year.

WilkinsonEyre and Boele Architects have seen off competition from more than 20 other entries to land the design contract for a new arena complex in the city of České Budějovice, Czech Republic. Run by the South Bohemian Region of which České Budějovice is the capital, the single-stage international architectural competition called for the design of a multifunctional sports arena for 5,000 spectators, along with adjacent public space, a car park and an office building.

The World Supercross Championship has confirmed its 2025 calendar, with its first African event to take place at DHL Stadium in Cape Town, along with an inaugural Malaysian round at Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur. The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM)-sanctioned Championship has outlined a five-round schedule for 2025, following a 2024 season which took in a double-header event at HBF Park in Perth, along with rounds at BC Place in Vancouver and Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The Missouri Senate has approved a circa $1.5bn (£1.11bn/€1.31bn) financial plan designed to retain the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals amid stadium-based overtures to the NFL and MLB franchises from the state of Kansas. The Royals currently play at Kauffman Stadium, while the Chiefs play at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
