    Christie has announced its release of the new Jazz series of single-chip DLP laser projectors touting WUXGA and 4K+ resolutions with high brightness in a compact, lightweight chassis. Four new models range in brightness from 16,600 to 23,750 ISO lumens (14,000 to 20,000 ANSI), all using Texas Instrument's 0.8-inch HEP (High Efficiency Pixel) DMD, which delivers native WUXGA resolution (1920x1200) or 4K+ (3840x2400) with the application of four-phase pixel-shifting.

    Sharp has announced pending availability of its XP-X171Q, a 16,500 ANSI lumen 4K DLP projector with a dual-laser light source. First announced at InfoComm in June along with its less-bright sibling, the 13,500-lumen XP-X141Q, the XP-X171Q features a blue+red laser phosphor engine that provides higher brightness and deeper, more saturated reds than typically possible with a traditional single blue laser phosphor architecture.

    Ricoh has introduced the UHL3660, an uber-bright 4K ultra-short throw projector with a 6,500 ANSI lumen rating. PFU America, Inc., the Ricoh-owned U.S.-based subsidiary that distributes the company's laser projectors, says that the UHL3660 leverages the company's patented UST lens technology, which is used by other manufacturers throughout the industry.
