The Outdoor Research Ferrosi pants have been around for a long time, and they just keep getting better. At some point along the way over the last 20 years, there has been a subtle (or maybe not so subtle) shift to hyper-specialized outdoor gear. I became acutely aware of this last year when I was in the market for a backcountry ski pack.

Gakuryu Ishii’s second movie of the year is half a dozen things at once, with so much going on that it has taken me a week—after its premiere at the inaugural London International Fantastic Film Festival —to begin processing everything it offers. This menagerie exemplifies the ethos I yearn for in cinema: to defy categorisation.

At the club’s morning skate on Friday, Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet repeated himself as it related to the ongoing developments with Vancouver forward J.T. Miller. Tocchet pointed out Thursday after practice that Miller was skating once again and that “there is a plan” in place for the player’s return. Miller took a leave of absence for personal reasons after playing part of the game at home on November 17th against the Nashville Predators. He left the match after 11:41 of ice time.

Picture it, Halloween night, 1993 and 13-year-old me is too terrified to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street which my friend’s parents have rented on video (look it up, kids) for the annual Halloween party. So, suffering from major humiliation, I was thrust alone into an upstairs bedroom with the back-up video rental, Elvira Mistress of the Dark.

One of the most common tropes of all time in media is that of a missing or murdered teenage girl — a horror story that is tragically a reality for far too many. Typically, the narrative opens with the detective protagonist studying the life of the subject of their case; what she was like, who her friends were, learning everything and anything they can about who she was to find an answer as to how someone could do something so horrible to someone so young and innocent.

He’s ba-ack. Canucks netminder Arturs Silovs went down to Abbotsford for a game, made 23 saves and won it 4-2 over the Bakersfield Condors on Sunday. Now he’s back, not surprising considering Vancouver head coach Rick Tocchet said that was the plan ahead of time. “It was fine, things change fast here, I just have to be ready and yeah, take your opportunity,” Silovs said after practice with the big club Monday.

Canucks GoaltendingFrom a stalwart, sometimes heroic, playoff performance last spring to a demotion to the American Hockey League on Sunday. Not an unusual scenario for young NHL netminders, with Arturs Silovs of the Canucks being the latest example. This season, Silovs is 0-2-1 with a 4.77 goals-against average and 80.8% save percentage over three starts and a one relief role. He hasn’t started since October 15th on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

All ★★★★ ★★ ★★★★ ★★★★ More ★★ I hate to say it but it this is the worst V/H/S since Viral, otherwise known as the fucking awful one before the franchise went on sabbatical for years. None of the shorts are particularly bad, its more that they are all so very generic, the sort of dumb shit and bland mush that the post-revival entries (94 & 99... hail ratmaa) felt like an antidote to. I did like Jordan Downey's but the series is on a harsh downward trajectory in these last two, hopefully next...
