    CHARLESTON — The annual citywide cleanup day is scheduled for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Leaf and Limb Drop-off Facility along West Madison Avenue, past the Coles County Fairgrounds. Only Charleston residents and property owners may dispose of their waste in the trash bins at this facility, according to a new release from the city. Also, this service is open exclusively for residential clean up and not for commercial contractor use.

    MATTOON — A second victim injured when a vehicle crashed through a wall at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home nursing home has died. The Champaign County Coroner's Office has reported that Carol A. Wilson, 86, of Mattoon died on Saturday at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers confirmed Monday afternoon that Wilson was the other victim in the May 2 crash. Wilson had been airlifted to Carle from the crash scene, where fellow resident Sharon L.
