MATTOON — Verdant plants bearing sugar snap peas, radishes, turnips and other crops have been growing in recent weeks in Fit-2-Serve's Regenerative Garden in sight of motorists on busy Broadway and Charleston avenues. Community members are invited to tour the garden, purchase fresh produce grown there and take part in other family-friendly activities during this nonprofit community service organization's upcoming 2025 Springfest.

MATTOON — An artist and a photographer who have both been actively involved with downtown Mattoon in recent years are bringing their services to storefront locations in this business district. Artist Peyton Morrow has opened his new Morrow Studios art instruction business at 1816 Broadway Ave. and begun offering classes for all ages. Photographer Melissa Harden plans to move her home-based Studio 21 to a renovated building at 1408 Broadway Ave. that will offer a salon on site.
