EAST HANOVER − Camryn Sward watched for years as her older sister Peyton repeatedly made plays for Hanover Park softball. The Peyton even guided the Hornets to the Group 2 state final in 2022.

    WAYNE − Grant Como struck out 10 while and allowed one run on three hits as Westfield defeated Passaic Tech, 4-1, in the Group 4 state semifinals on June 9. Como threw 109 pitches and retired the final 10 batters he faced to send the Blue Devils to the state final on June 14 at Hamilton. It's the fourth time in school history that Westfield will head to the group finals, previously making appearances in 2011, 2013 and 2018. The Blue Devils have never won a state title.

    OLD TAPPAN − Autumn Liebhauser's three-run home run with two outs in the top of the fifth inning sparked 12 unanswered runs by Randolph in a six-inning 12-1 win Old Tappan in the North 1, Group 3 sectional softball final on June 6. Trailing 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Randolph sent pinch hitter Isabella Schmidt to the plate. The freshman worked a walk, followed by a single from Maddi Ryan. Liebhauser came to the plate and struck her ninth home run of the season and the 37th of her Randolph career.

FINAL Camryn Sward’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth lifts Hanover Park to a 5-4 win over Jefferson in the Group 2 softball semifinals. The Hornets will seek their first ever group title on Friday against Gloucester City.
