IntroductionIn a recently published case report, Andaluz-Scher et al address an important issue: amblyopia recurrence. For patients already treated for amblyopia, is there an eventual age after which visual acuity gains are irretrievably “permanent,” or is brain plasticity an ongoing risk such that amblyopia therapy must be ongoing into adulthood? This case does not suggest their patient spiraled into dense refractory residual amblyopia due to lack of spectacles.

3. ResultsOf the 7 fetal cardiology clinicians invited to participate in the study, 1 declined and 1 had no eligible patients during the study period. Five clinicians (4 cardiologists and 1 nurse practitioner) participated in the study. Of the 31 families invited to participate in the study, 5 declined participation and 7 families were not eligible based on fetal echocardiogram results (Figure 1); thus, we obtained 19 audio-recorded consultations.
