Since it launched on the New Zealand market nearly 12 months ago, more than 779 units of the new generation MG3 have been retailed as of April 30, 2025. MG Motor sold more than 2814 units of the previous generation MG3, which held a 27% share of the light passenger car segment in 2023. The new generation MG3 is currently sitting in second place in the light passenger car market this year behind the perennially popular Suzuki Swift, with the evergreen Honda Jazz holding onto third place.

Suzuki New Zealand recently teamed up with Auckland-based stop-motion wizard, Adam Rowland, to produce what may be a world first in car advertising. The star? The Suzuki Swift. The medium? Pure stop-motion – handcrafted, frame-by-frame, using practical effects, no CGI, and a full-sized vehicle filmed entirely inside a studio. “We’re always looking for unexpected ways to show off the personality and performance of the Swift,” says Suzuki NZ marketing manager, Fiona Bridgford.

The first Collecting Cars coffee run will take place on June 21, 2025 at HOTA (Home of the Arts) on the Gold Coast, where the carpark will transform into a showcase of collector and classic vehicles as vibrant as the exhibitions inside.
