Police officers are used to seeing almost anything but two officers in Granby may have been a bit taken aback when they stumbled upon a feathered friend in distress. It appears an owl who came a little to close for comfort nearly being hit by a car on Saturday.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - A sad story from a Connecticut Zoo after a lovable Red Panda named Berry passes away. Officials at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport say Berry was 14 when she died on Wednesday. The Zoo said Berry passed away while recovering from anesthesia after a procedure. Zoo officials said Berry "lived a long and remarkable life," living way past the 8-10 year lifespan red pandas typically live.
