A belated Happy New Year to all on Medium, I hope 2024 brought you everything you worked or asked for and you are now ready to make a fresh start in 2025. In a post last year I wrote that I would do a bit of a year in review. I usually do these at the point where my Medium.com membership renews, May time, however I moved this as I was embarked on a bit of a challenge to make a profit from Medium in 2024. Just after Christmas, I came down with a dose of the flu which totally floored me.

Being a business that is online can often feel that the art of culture isn't as crucial as it is, if you were to have a physical store, studio or office. That just isn't true. Fundamentally because culture is at the very heart of your business. When I was starting out in 2008, I certainly didn't pay too much attention to the world of culture within the business world. For me I had an office, a handful of clients and that for me marked the epitome of success, what more could I want at the age of 21.
