This Saturday I’m launching a weekly streaming show called McKnight Tonight. The 10 week experiment will be a mixture of talkback radio and television, covering news topics of the week plus interviews about the news and the odd celebrity might pop up too. For many years I’ve believed there is room in the Australian media landscape for a show like this but I’ve never been able to convince those in power to do a topical panel show in an 8.30pmish slot.

The iconic presenter has left the building after 44 years with the network. The Nine Network has announed veteran journalist Liz Hayes is no longer with the broadcaster, or as the network puts it: “she will be pursuing new opportunities outside of the 9Network in 2025”.

Let’s return to the economy at the start of the Biden Administration in 2020. COVID was still hemorrhaging medically but was also taking its toll on the economy.
