For over two decades, U.S. News & World Report has used the Common Data Set – a collaborative effort among U.S. News, the College Board and Peterson’s – for collecting high-quality, accurate information from schools using standardized definitions. To minimize the reporting burden on schools that annually report many of the same CDS data points to multiple entities, U.S. News accepts completed CDS forms from schools to populate responses to many questions in its Best Colleges statistical surveys.
