The final weekend of June continues our stormy pattern over the region. Friday late afternoon into the night brings storms into the Dakotas. The main threats will be large hail and strong winds, with storms starting in the central part of the states then moving east into the night. As we go into the weekend itself, the heat and humidity continue to build. Temperatures sit in the 80s and 90s throughout the region and will feel even hotter thanks to the high dew points.

As we gear up for this weekend, we look for our second real round of heat this year. Unlike May's dry heat however, this time humidity will be in the picture. For Friday night into Saturday, we are on the watch for strong to severe storms to move through areas of North Dakota and north central Minnesota. These storms could bring large hail, strong winds, and an isolated tornado.

Temperatures are cooler Tuesday with a high in the mid- to upper 70s. This drop is due to a cold front coming through the area. Smoke is trailing behind the front, leaving hazy conditions. Highs are in the mid-70s for the next couple days. Conditions remain dry, with a chance of showers Friday. Low 70s continue into the weekend with stray shower chances.

As we head into this weekend, temperatures look to warm up just in time for Father's Day. For Friday evening our best chance of rain moves through South Dakota, then moves out in Minnesota as we go into Saturday morning. As we head into the day, the region stays mostly dry but cloudy. A few showers are possible in far southern South Dakota and Minnesota. Temperatures remain cool with the clouds, with many of us staying in the 60s and 70s.

We kick off the week on a rainy note with a low pressure system moving through Minnesota. Cloudy skies and areas of rain showers will make for a cool day with highs in the mid 60s. We see the rain wind down this evening then cloudy skies for tonight. The clouds clear out though for tomorrow, and with the sunshine highs get in the upper 70s. Temperatures get to the 80s for the second half of the week with more rain chances on the way.
