One dead and multiple injured following Friday morning crash near Rockledge Dr and Old Georgetown Rd. LORTON, Va. — Fairfax County Police are investigating a crash that left one man dead Wednesday morning. Just before 6:30 a.m., officers responded to the scene of a crash involving a dump truck and a van at the intersection of US-1 and Giles Run in Lorton. Police said a man, identified as the driver of the van, died at a local hospital. His identity has not been released at this time, this includes his age and name. The dump truck driver was uninjured and remained at the scene, according to police.

WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Petworth early Monday morning. Officers received a call at 2:41 a.m. for reports of a shooting in the 900 block of Shepherd Street, Northwest, two blocks away from the Georgia Avenue–Petworth station. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No details have been released about the victim at this time. This includes his name, age, and where he is from.
