The film “Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin” was released in the United States in late November 2024. It has been called a historical drama thriller film, though how “historical” it is at various points can be disputed. The film was written, produced, and directed by Todd Komarnicki. Most of the cast have German-sounding names, like Jonas Dassler, August Diehl, Nadine Heidenreich, and Moritz Bleibtreu. This may explain why many characters in the film speak with a heavy German accent.
