6. Discussion and ConclusionsFinally, it seems appropriate in this discussion to underline some considerations related to the criminal investigations. In the USA, the geological evidence in a trial for the kidnapping, sexual violence, and murder of a 9-year-old girl led the jury and the judge to condemn the criminal, with a sentence of the death penalty [50]. In Italy, although the criminal law is different, it cannot be considered a minor responsibility to limit the personal liberty of a suspect.
