AbstractHow transcription factors (TFs) regulate stem cells to maintain homeostasis, how noncoding single nucleotide variants (SNVs) linked to polygenic disease risk relate to such TFs, and the target genes SNVs dysregulate are central questions in stem cell and polygenic disease research. Massively parallel reporter gene analysis (MPRA) of 3,451 SNVs linked to risk for prevalent human skin diseases identified 355 differentially active SNVs (daSNVs).

AbstractRNA binding proteins (RBPs) control varied processes, including RNA splicing, stability, transport, and translation1-3. Dysfunctional RNA-RBP interactions contribute to the pathogenesis of human disease1,4,5, however, characterizing the nature and dynamics of multiprotein assemblies on RNA has been challenging.

In the unfolding horror of the last three weeks, many Israelis have called the horrific attack from Hamas “Israel’s 9/11.” If that’s true, let’s hope they handle it better than we did. Unfortunately, it looks like they will not. In fact, it looks like they are following our playbook of revenge, wanton destruction, and political grandstanding perfectly. We know how our post-9/11 misadventures turned out.
