Trent Ruder, Public Information Officer for the Fort Morgan Fire Department (FMFD), firefighters were dispatched at 11:57 a.m. on Friday, May 16, to an outbuilding fire near South Deuel Street. Upon arrival, crews found two campers fully engulfed in flames, with a third beginning to catch fire. The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and Morgan County Ambulance Service also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported among occupants or emergency personnel.

A 15-year-old male from Fort Morgan was struck by a vehicle on Saturday, May 10, at County Road 18.5 and County Road Q, according to the Colorado State Patrol. According to Trooper Sherri Mendez, Public Information Officer, the pedestrian was crossing west to east when a southbound Honda Odyssey, driven by a 56-year-old Fort Morgan resident, collided with him. Emergency responders transported the teen to a local hospital with serious bodily injuries. The driver was not injured in the incident.

On May 7, Brush students participated in the Bike, Roll, or Stroll to School event, organized by PE teacher Amy Windsheimer. Each choir group performed throughout the evening and finished with a final performance by the Fort Morgan High School Combined Choirs.
