A concern for OpenAI or similar Artificial Intelligence (AI) is that they can be hacked/convinced to divulge information that they are not supposed to release. Often, the creators of the AI add governance to prevent dangerous or private information from being released. The goal of attackers is to get the AI to ignore its own rules. The AI models can be compromised through a technique called prompt inject, which is really just social engineering the AI through the interaction of the user and the AI.

Gus Bilirakis Visits Brooksville KiwanisOn Tuesday, February 18, US Representative Gus Bilirakis visited the Brooksville Kiwanis at a downtown Brooksville eatery. Gus spoke about how his grandfather worked at the Maillis Grocery store and pool room across the street from where he was speaking. The Maillis family were relatives and they all lived in a house nearby in Brooksville. The Maillis grocery was located in the Jennings Building for around 40 years, ending in the 1970s.

The belief that voters have no real agency and are simply influenced by marketing, I refer to as marketocracy. If marketing is the key to what the voters prefer, then we do not have a democracy as the people simply vote as they are influenced by the marketers. This is the antithesis of a democracy. If the people can be convinced via marketing to vote either way, then they have no free will and the democracy is worthless. In this last election, it felt as if political marketing had peaked.

Facebook has stopped using fact-checkers from the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) at the Poynter Institute to determine if news stories are true or false. This change has created significant consternation for some people. The way that Facebook worked with the fact-checkers is informative. If the fact-checkers deemed a story false, then Facebook would use key terms from the story to suppress instances of the false story.
