Mark Williams has yet to return to the Charlotte Hornets after the trade sending him to the Los Angeles Lakers was rescinded. It's believed that the Hornets are giving Williams time to readjust to being back with the team. In a bit of an odd coincidence, Charlotte's first game after the All-Star break is on Wednesday at the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Charlotte Hornets are waiving guard Reggie Jackson. After clearing waivers, Jackson plans to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Hornets acquired Jackson earlier this offseason in a salary-shedding move by the Denver Nuggets. The Hornets acquired two second-round picks for taking Jackson's salary into their cap space. This is the second time Jackson has been waived by the Hornets in a two-year period. Charlotte previously waived the veteran point guard following the 2023 trade deadline.

Charlotte Hornets new front office leader Jeff Peterson made it clear where his team stands with free agent forward Miles Bridges. "I've made it very clear to Miles that we want him to remain as a Hornet", Peterson said. Bridges is an unrestricted free agent this offseason. After missing the entire 2022-23 season after going unsigned and then suspended due to domestic violence charges, Bridges played out the 2023-24 season on a one-year qualifying offer for Charlotte.
