A technical explanation of 8K vs 4K is actually quite easy to get out of the way. These days, video resolution is described in terms of the width of the video frame in pixels. 4K video is approximately 4000 pixels wide, while 8K video is approximately 8000 pixels wide. There are some small variations, but that’s about as complicated as it gets. What this means is that 8K video is twice the width and height of 4K video, so that’s a lot more resolution.

If you're going to use log profiles on your camera or do any serious color grading later, 10-bit video will be more robust and yield better quality. Video file formats and settings can be pretty complicated, and it’s all about trading off file sizes against quality. 8-bit video capture keeps file sizes smaller and is pretty much a universal common denominator that every device can capture, edit and play back.

32-bit float audio sounds like a dream come true for vloggers and filmmakers, especially solo shooters, who already have enough to do without having to continuously monitor sound levels too. It means, in principle, that you don’t have to set the audio level at all and you can record sounds of any volume without clipping. How is that even possible? It’s because the standard 24-bit audio recording format used by almost all cameras has a limited dynamic range, in audio terms.

The Replace Color filter is a new feature in ON1 Photo RAW 2021, though it will be a familiar option to many users of Photoshop and other programs. It does exactly what it says, allowing you to select a color in the image and replace it with another. https://t.co/vD2DB6dnhK

The new Dehaze slider in Capture One 21 shares the same name as the tool in Lightroom, and the same aim – to reduce atmospheric haze in outdoor shots and restore contrast and depth. The results, however, are quite different. https://t.co/bIheRMk3LB
