SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER doesn’t win every tournament he enters, but sometimes it feels that way. Scheffler won his third tournament in May by shooting 10-under-par in The Memorial Tournament last weekend. His other victories last month came in the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the PGA Championship. The 2012 USGA Junior Amateur, which was played at the Golf Club of New England in Stratham, is one tournament Scheffler didn’t win. He advanced to match play, but lost in the second round.

MANCHESTER – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (24-30) picked up its third straight shutout against the Altoona Curve (24-30) at Delta Dental Stadium on Thursday night, 2-0. New Hampshire held Altoona to three hits and set a new franchise record with 30 consecutive scoreless frames dating back to June 1 in Hartford. Fisher Cats starter Juaron Watts-Brown posted six, one-hit innings to build on New Hampshire’s season-best four game winning streak.

MANCHESTER – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (23-30) stifled the Altoona Curve (24-29) at Delta Dental Stadium on Wednesday night, 3-0. Fisher Cats starter Devereaux Harrison dominated for six, two-hit innings and piled on five strikeouts in his first shutout win of the year. Box ScoreHarrison (W, 4-5) fired his third quality start of the season as the Fisher Cats staff held Altoona to two hits.

Dom Toscano hit two home runs and collected three RBIs to lead 11th-seeded Salem to a 10-0 victory over sixth-seeded Dover on Wednesday in the Division I tournament’s preliminary round. Toscano hit a solo home run in the second inning and a two-run home run in the fifth. Aaron Masson pitched five scoreless innings for the Blue Devils (10-10). Masson limited Dover to four hits, struck out seven and walked three. Jack Quinby didn’t allow a hit in a scoreless sixth.
