VRAM is the dedicated memory a GPU relies on to cache textures, shaders, and other graphics-related data. Too little VRAM can create a bottleneck, while extra may enhance your experience. 8GB is the bare minimum you should have on a new GPU, but you'll get far better results (and futureproofing) with 12GB or more. You may need to shoot higher for a 4K display. Don't go overboard on VRAM -- 16GB is plenty for most people, though you'll give yourself some headroom with 18GB or better.

Pixelsnap could mark a turning point, but only if Google keeps expanding its offerings, and doesn't jump ship at the first sign of trouble.

Connect more devices to Ethernet to free up the airwaves. If you've got a mesh system, try wiring your routers to each other to create a better backhaul. You should also take advantage of device prioritization options, and consider relegating low-priority devices to a separate 2.4GHz SSID. Don't ignore router placement -- obstacles and device range could have a serious impact on speed and reliability.
