It is with a heavy heart that I pen this tribute to my Manchester-born, Canadian-bred friend Keith Sharp who, after a short illness, passed away peacefully early on the morning of October 18. Keith was co-founder and Editor-In-Chief of Music Express magazine, the only contemporary publication in the history of the Canadian music industry to execute national record retail circulation via records stores, and national newsstand circulation.

I was truly saddened to learn of the passing of Lenny Stoute earlier this week as he was a larger-than-life presence. I first crossed paths with Lenny when he was a Features Writer for Music Express magazine between 1981 and 1986, while I worked as a freelancer for the publication. Lenny was a brilliant writer, and I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone with such a wicked sense of humour.

JJ Wilde is on a hot streak. The Kitchener rocker burst onto the scene in 2020 with her debut album “Ruthless”, achieving over 36 million global streams. That record won a 2021 JUNO Award for Rock Album of the Year, and Wilde became the first female performer to win in this category since Alanis Morissett’s “Jagged Little Pill”.
