Mobile GP service Street Side Medics has launched its first regional clinic in Nowra. The not-for-profit organisation provides free primary healthcare for people facing homelessness. The service will operate every Tuesday before eventually expanding services further south. Bernie Goodwin used to dread getting sick because it meant visiting a GP clinic. It made him uncomfortable knowing people would stare at him.

A court has heard a mother who has been missing for 32 years was allegedly murdered and dumped in bushland after "coming into money". There was a breakthrough in the cold case of missing Wollongong woman Pauline Sowry on Thursday when a 64-year-old man was arrested in relation to her disappearance in June 1994. The 49-year-old, also known by her married name Pauline Lawrence, was last seen by her family in the northern suburbs of Wollongong around Christmas of 1993.

The decision to reduce the load capacity of an aging, heritage-listed bridge linking the south coast to the southern highlands could add millions of dollars to transport costs a year, according to Nowra transport operator Mark Nelson. Transport for NSW announced at the start of May that by the end of the month Kangaroo Valley's historic Hampden Bridge would have its load limit reduced from 42.5 tonnes to 23 tonnes.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has made eight recommendations in its final report into the near stranding of bulk carrier MV Portland Bay south of Sydney in July 2022. Twenty-one crew members were on board the ship carrying oil when it came into trouble during a storm. The transport watchdog says it will continue to monitor for action taken by the organisations.
