It has been an epic year for us humor/opinion writers. At this point in the year, I give thanks for those buffoons, reprobates, scalawags, the demented and DEI disasters who made my job easier in 2024. For the last year, all I had to do was read the newspaper out loud on stage to get laughs. – AAA predicted 60 million Americans took to the roads with their families to visit relatives for Thanksgiving.

It is fun to watch the left go hyperbolic over Trump’s big presidential win. They bought into the echo chamber of lies fed to them by the mainstream media. I am not sure if they are mad at the leftist media for misleading them or at Trump. Either way, it is fun to watch. Ratings at PMS-NBC, CNN et al. are down over 30%. MS-NBC is said to be for sale, and CNN is making cuts. They are serious; CNN just fired me, and I don’t work there.

Donald Trump returned to Butler, Pennsylvania where he was almost killed weeks ago. And you thought Tom Cruise was cool because he does his own stunts. Fox News was about the only media outlet to cover the former president’s triumphant return. Maybe they should have built a grassy knoll, a book depository, or walked him out through the kitchen to entice ABC, PMS-NBC, CBS et al. to cover it.

The Democrats at their national convention boldly said that they laid out “A Vision for America.” And – I am not making this up – their opening speech was by Stevie Wonder. Instead of issues, they kept pushing this “joy” thing. It was unquantifiable and a diversion from their record, but the press ran with it as instructed, including the lie somehow being spread that Beyoncé and Taylor Swift were to perform.

On the opening night of the Democratic National Convention, Joe Biden was given the not-so-prime-time slot, 11:30 p.m. Monday night, for his speech. This was not the slot where one would put a president whom Pelosi and other Dems say deserves to be mounted on Mount Rushmore. Speaking of mounting things, Bill Clinton was scheduled to speak Wednesday. On Hump Day. The Democrat crowd went nuts for Biden, just weeks after he left the presidential race.

All politicians lie, usually about unquantifiable things which cannot be readily disproven. And their lies always make themselves look better. Trump made mistakes in recounting a story about an emergency helicopter landing he thought he had with California’s grand old Democrat (GOD), Willie Brown. Brown, who was infamously Kamala Harris’ early political benefactor, said Trump had it wrong. It turns out Trump did not go down with Brown, but with another black California politician.
