Memorial to be dedicated

By RON MORGAN For the Gazette Officials of the Frontier Patriots Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution invite the public to take part in a special dedication service at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Captain Phillips Rangers Memorial, located in Liberty Township, Bedford Co., just north of Saxton. Larry Smith, an activist in the chapter and a well-known area historian, announced that a bronze plaque has been erected at the Captain Phillips Rangers Memorial, replacing an older bronze plaque.
Broad Top supervisors reorganize for year

Donald “Donnie” Hedge Jr., longtime chairman of the Broad Top Township Supervisors, got the nod for another year as overseer of the municipality during the township’s annual reorganization, held recently in the municipal office in Defiance. Also retained by unanimous vote for 2025 were Bryan Melius, vice president; Stacy Woomer, secretary/treasurer at a pay rate of $20.50 an hour; and Donnie Hedge, roadmaster, whose pay rate will be set by the township auditors.

Air France resumes seasonal direct flights

Air France today announced the return of its popular seasonal direct flight service between Cape Town International Airport (CPT) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). In response to strong demand from both business and leisure travellers, the airline will operate three weekly flights starting 7 October, with an additional flight scheduled to be added from November, just in time for the busy holiday season.

It’s been five years now since the PC version of Borderlands 3 launched as a high-profile timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store.
