Subaru released technical specifications for the new, Japanese-market Forester, and there’s a cool feature available in the SUV’s home market that hasn’t been announced for America yet. It’s a big, U-shaped airbag that deploys from the upper edge of the hood to protect cyclists. While pedestrian airbags have been around for over a decade, Subaru claims its cyclist airbag is a world first.

The retro-inspired ID Buzz is one of the most joyful Volkswagen models since the New Beetle made its debut for 1998. Just look at it: It’s happy, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and it puts a smile on everyone’s face. But it’s ultimately a big van, so it was bound to end up doing big van things, even when they’re not exactly cheerful. There’s a funeral home in Texas that figures the ID Buzz makes the perfect hearse.
