    Singapore is a dream destination for many Filipino families because of its mix of entertainment attractions, first-world convenience and development, and cuisine. I have loved taking my children to Singapore for a mix of educational sights and amusement parks and our personal favorite: hardly ever having to worry about their safety.

That is what my senior editors used as a euphmism for vaginal rejuvenation treatments almost two decades ago when it first made rounds with the ladies who lunch crowd, which was picked up by our editorial team for a feature. Back then I was not yet a mother, never having experienced any sort of activity (if you catch my drift) that had to do with the area of concern. I had always chalked it up as something to think about in my golden years.

    This is a spoiler-free article. For parents who take the time to understand and explain emotions to their kids, Inside Out (2015) is pretty much a hack. I would daresay that for those of us who were not taught to deal with all our own emotions (cue: “Stop crying! Papangit ka” comments) and may only be learning as a parent, the movie is both cathartic and is media that can be used in parenting.

    Dear Mama,In a few hours, it will be Mother’s Day. Maybe this open letter might reach you on Mother’s Day itself. So I hope it is not too late for me to say this. Earlier today, I read through a Smart Parenting Village survey question where we asked your plans for Mother’s Day and my heart sank briefly as I repeatedly read the same answer: “laba”. Some shared there were already plans to dine out with the family. Some shared that there was no budget and Mother’s Day is like any other day.
