WHEN it comes to backs-to-the-wall, against-the-odds victories on foreign soil, Munster are the masters. The list of stadiums sacked by the province is a long and hallowed list. Vicarage Road in 1999, Stade Chaban-Delmas in 2000, Welford Road in 2003 and 2006, Kingsholm in 2008, The Stoop in 2012, AJ Bell Stadium in 2014, Stade Marcel Michelin in 2020, Scotstoun, Aviva Stadium and DHL Stadium in 2023, Stade Felix Mayol in 2024.

And Munster’s reward was a trip to South Africa to face a squad loaded with Test quality.

Munster are on the road again. The squad boarded a flight to South Africa yesterday ahead of a seismic URC quarter-final with a Springboks-laden Sharks side in Durban on Saturday. That part of the world doesn’t hold particularly fond memories for this playing group. Kings Park was the scene of a 41-24 hammering at the hands of the rampant hosts in October, a fitting end to a miserable two-week tour of South Africa. Today's top videos STORY CONTINUES BELOW Munster weren’t in a great place then.

RT @BitebackPub: ⚽What’s the real story behind Chelsea FC’s 2022 sale? For the first time, Roman Abramovich breaks his silence. Sanctions…

'Stay in the f****** fight,' is the message from Peter O'Mahony to his teammates in the huddle just before extra-time.

Not quite the Millennium Stadium in 2011, but Leinster will need another second-half fightback to beat Northampton here. Saints are flying it. Tommy Freeman on a different level today.
