    NYU’s departments of Sociology and Environmental Studies will relocate to 79 Washington Square East during the spring 2025 semester after a yearslong renovation of the former Goddard Hall, which once served as a residential building. The departments will move in late January and early February, university spokesperson John Beckman said in a statement to WSN.

    Former Tisch and Courant student Adi Roy first played Aladdin on stage in his middle school’s production of “Aladdin Jr.” At that time, he hadn’t even seen the popular Disney film. Now, Roy fills Aladdin’s shoes several times per week on Broadway. After starting his Broadway stint as an NYU student, Roy was eventually cast as Aladdin in 2022 and has continued the role ever since.

    Faculty and administrators at NYU Langone Health urged Gov. Kathy Hochul to lower fares for patients and health care workers entering Manhattan south of 60th Street in a letter last week. They requested that Hochul exempt or reimburse patients and medically vulnerable individuals from the new $9 rush hour toll, which was approved Thursday and set to take effect on Jan. 5.
