Hello, my dear friends and fans. Honey Child! I believe my column has gone from entertainment to an obituary column. It is a terrible situation! Lonnie Parker, Anthony McCarthy and Joe Cooper were all close friends, and I am sure many of yours, too. Condolences to the family and friends of these Baltimore icons. They will be truly missed. Now that we have wiped our tears away, and mourn in silence, let’s talk about some happy stuff. I am talking about music.

Hello, my dear friends, we are almost there; I am talking about the weather. It is getting warmer, and we can start coming out to enjoy the good music and events that our musicians are trying so hard to present to us. Do you remember the jazz jam sessions we used to have at the Sportsmen Lounge on Monday nights and at the Bird Cage in East Baltimore? It may be coming back, thanks to so many of our young generations of musicians.

Hello everyone! Honey Child, it is cold outside. I know I don’t need to remind you to dress warmly, with layers, heavy clothes and shoes. Stay indoors if you are able to. The sun will eventually come out and melt all the snow and bring the temperature up a little bit. Those of you who have to go out to go to work, I will say a prayer for you. Then again, if you are like my daughter, who is enjoying every minute that you are out in the snow and cold with a smile on your face, God bless you.

Hello everyone, I am doing much better. Thank you for asking, but I still have a long way to go, according to my doctors. I guess when you get screws and bolts put into your spine, it takes more than ten days to heal. I plan on testing the waters soon starting this week, so look for me. Baltimore’s renowned song stylist Aleta Green has passed away. For decades, Aleta Greene was a “household name” widely known on the Baltimore music scene.

Hello, my dear friends!Before I get started, I just want you to know that I am out of the hospital and home trying to get my body back in shape after a two- or three-hour surgery on my spine. After they lined up my vertebrate’s disks, they put in bolts and screws, I guess to hold the thing together. I have been in a lot of pain for the past two years, so this was an operation that I had to have, or I was going to wind up in a wheelchair.

Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I hope you were able to go to Fell’s Point Fun Festival last week-end. I was hoping to meet you there, but I was a little under the weather with my back and was unable to stand or walk too well, so I decided to stay in and rest. I have been scheduled with my doctor to have major back surgery on Wednesday, October 23 at Mercy Hospital.
