Key Practitioner Messages Young people have a right to be responded to with respect, dignity and support when engaging with police personnel. Kindness shown by police and transparency about the criminal justice process helps young people engage with police and provide a detailed account of their experiences. We need to listen to young people's views of their experiences of engaging with police in order to improve our responses.
