MethodsThe present study used the RIETE registry, a comprehensive, multicentre, prospective registry collecting data from consecutive patients diagnosed with VTE, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), across 205 centres in 27 countries (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier, NCT02832245).13 Patients who were participating in a blind/double-blind clinical therapeutic trial were excluded.
