Following her runner-up finish last week at the Dana Open, LPGA Tour sophomore Haeran Ryu finds herself again at the top of the leaderboard, this time with a one-stroke lead heading into the final round of the CPKC Women’s Open. While Mao Saigo is a rookie this season on the LPGA Tour, she didn’t play like one on Moving Day at the CPKC Women’s Open in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The 22-year-old Japan native stunned fans on Saturday at Earl Grey Golf Club, blitzing the field with an 11-under 61 and breaking the 18-hole tournament scoring record at the CPKC Women’s Open, one that was originally set by Song Hee-Kim back in 2009 at Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club, which is also located in Calgary.

I turned pro in 2016 with zero idea of what the future would hold or where to even begin. I had heard great things about the Cactus Tour from my friend Clariss Guce, so I began looking there. A week later I packed my things into Clariss’ car and off we drove to Arizona for my very first professional event. I took third place, and it was the beginning of a passion I was so happy to finally discover. I loved the travel, the camaraderie and the competition.
