The Lynden Players, based in Middleton Cheney since 1975, are deep into rehearsals for the concert in July, running alongside an exhibition of photos, costumes and memorabilia from their archives.

    A retro sports day proved to be a massive hit with residents of Hornton village on Sunday. The event drew families, friends and neighbours together for a joyful afternoon of community spirit and classic fun. Organised by Sophie Heathcote it was held in the heart of the village and attracted an incredible turnout. Children and teenagers competed in races, football matches and quick cricket, while adults joined in the games or cheered from the sidelines with refreshments in hand.

    A controversial roads scheme many motorists believe will cause traffic mayhem in Banbury has taken a step forward after Cherwell planners approved its legal status. Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) wants to spend millions changing the road layout between the Bridge Street bus station, Cherwell Street and George Street in a bid to improve bus journey times. Banbury Civic Society says the changes would ‘totally disrupt’ established traffic routes.

    Visitors to a Banburyshire AirB&B said they would ‘never complain again’ about roads in the north after driving over Oxfordshire potholes. The visitors left a glowing review of their comfortable, attractive AirB&B lodgings in north Oxfordshire, complaining only about the area’s roads. The leader of Oxfordshire County Council said there was not enough money to keep rural roads in decent shape. The visitors said: "It’s all been lovely - really nice area.
