PROBLEM ‘I’ve always loved beauty products but never really know what to do with them. I get flummoxed by all the information and choice out there – you can spend a fortune going from A to Z and back again. I am switching career direction and, after years in marketing, looking for a new challenge. As I’m now based at home, I spend most of my time with a bare face and hair pulled back, so I need an easy look I can do every day.

Apparently, one in ten women are taking Ozempic*. It's a statistic I find hard to believe. Why? Well, I know a hairstylist friend who dabbles, plus a beauty editor colleague who has been on it for a year or so and I once met a guy on holiday, who, between sucks on a strawberry vape, told me he was on it. But in my close circle? I know nobody. But just because we are not taking it doesn't mean it's not affecting our friendships.

If there’s a better job than spa reviewer, I can’t think of it. In my career as a beauty editor I’ve been donning paper pants and climbing onto treatment beds for almost three decades. Basically, I’m never more than a few weeks away from a hot stone treatment and a hydrotherapy pool. So, you say, through gritted teeth, what’s in it for me? Well here are my favourite places - where services, facilities, location and design excel - so you need never book a dud again.
