The Twins deserve some credit! After a year of blunders on and off the field, the team’s decision to move to a direct-to-consumer option, lifting blackouts, is worth celebrating. Whether the team is worth watching or not, we’ll have to play out, but this was a good step in the right direction. Now, the question remains: What do the Twins need to do this offseason to put themselves in playing meaningful games in October instead of watching from home?

Growing up I used to loathe when the Minnesota Vikings were on their bye week. That is no longer the case. Bye weeks have become a great day to gather intel on other divisional opponents by being able to watch more of their games in live action. As a younger fan I didn’t really appreciate that nuance. I do now. This weekend I’ll be cheering against the Packers (hosting Arizona), against the Bears (in London against the Jags), and against the Lions (at Dallas).

Email Intro Mackey’s favorite Minnesota Vikings stat of the week! My favorite Minnesota Vikings stat of the week, via ESPN.com: The 2024 Vikings have only trailed for a total of 3 minutes and 26 seconds all season! Since the NFL merger in 1970, only four teams have trailed for fewer minutes through Week 5: The 2009 New Orleans Saints (Super Bowl winners), 1984 Miami Dolphins (lost in Super Bowl), 2023 San Francisco 49ers (lost in Super Bowl) and 1999 St. Louis Rams (won Super Bowl).

Well, 5-0 looks pretty good, huh? The Vikings’ over-under win total was projected at 6.5 this season. Yet after a too-close-for-comfort 23-17 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday in London, the Vikings are 5-0 and atop the NFC North heading into their bye week.

Get ready for a (late) breakfast, call it brunch, with Ventline on Sunday as the Vikings try to make it 5-0 against Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. The 8:30 a.m. kickoff from London sets up a perfect day for football viewing as fans can go from the Vikings to the Red Zone channel to the late afternoon starts and then the Sunday night matchup. As always, SKOR North will be all over the Vikings with the postgame Ventline and then tons of content on Monday and all week.
