INTRODUCTION Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a condition characterized by inflammation, fibrosis, and vasculopathy of multiple organ systems, including the skin, heart, lungs, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract. It causes significant functional impairment and reduced quality of life1, 2 and has a high mortality rate,3-5 predominantly due to SSc interstitial lung disease (ILD) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
