A warning has been issued about significant delays at HMRC, where tax refunds are now taking up to four months to process, compared to only a few weeks in the past, as flagged by York's Equilibrium Accountants. The firm's managing director, Nikki Ainscough, reported that some of her clients were advised to wait over four months for refunds on overpaid tax or national insurance, increasing significantly from previous processing times of just four to six weeks.
