    When Sweden took over the presidency of the EU Council in January, the ceremony took place in Kiruna, the country’s northernmost city. The government wanted to showcase a city that might play a key role in the transition to a more climate-friendly economy in Sweden and in Europe. Boden is a small town in Norrbotten, Sweden's northernmost, largest and loneliest province. More than twice the size of Switzerland in terms of area, Norrbotten makes up almost a quarter of Sweden's national territory.

    Auch wenn er vielleicht ein «Spion» war – Norwegen liebt seinen «Waldimir» Ein zutraulicher Beluga, der vor vier Jahren in Nordnorwegen Aufsehen erregte, ist zurück im Rampenlicht. Er tauchte weit im Süden an der norwegischen Küste auf und verwirrt damit die Fachleute. Am besten gefällt es ihm offenbar in der Nähe von Fischfarmen. Der später auf «Waldimir» getaufte Beluga, noch mit seinem seltsamen Riemengeschirr.
