I did not study history in senior secondary school. Yet, if I know history better than most, it is because I stand on the shoulders of a giant: Professor Chieka Ifemesia. While many young Nigerians today attend secondary schools devoid of history classes, my era still included the subject in the curriculum. I longed to study history, just as my father had. However, as a science student, I had to choose between history and literature. I chose literature, leaving me to pursue history on my own.

The good thing was that the scandal ended well. The silly monkey bolt driver apologized to the honorable and received some goodies to take care of his wretched life. And there was peace. I used to think that Nigerians needed more doctors and engineers. Now I know what we need is more shrinks. Thank you, Afe Babalola, for making me understand this our peculiar madness. When House of Representative member Alex Ikwechegh slapped a bolt driver, I was mad at the bolt driver.

I used to think that Nigerians needed more doctors and engineers. Now I know what we need is more shrinks. Thank you, Afe Babalola, for making me understand our peculiar madness. When House of Representative member Alex Ikwechegh slapped a bolt driver, I was mad at the bolt driver. How could an ordinary bolt driver upset our majestic, honourable member of the House of Representatives right at his home? What an audacity of an insult from a riffraff. The good thing was that the scandal ended well.
