She just thought it was the right time to release the record. Across 11 songs, she used her music to tell a story, covering a wide range of emotions and experiences fusing blues, Americana and rock.

The album has consistently ranked in Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list, and it was chosen by the Library of Congress for the inaugural National Recording Registry. The album celebrated its 65th anniversary last year.

    Art Makers Outpost’s concert series returns on Saturday, Jan. 25 with musical acts close to the Evanston community: Jeanie B with her band Angel Paint, and Christina Trulio with violinist Emily Randle. Jeanie B and Trulio are longtime friends and are excited to perform on the same bill. As a musician who lived in Evanston for more than 20 years, Trulio said Saturday’s concert will be a big reunion. “All of us have worked together. It’s a very small world and small community,” she said.

    Jonas Friddle will be celebrating the release of his latest album, When the Water Was the Sky, in front of a sold out crowd at SPACE on Saturday night, Jan. 18. In an interview with the RoundTable, he revealed that the project was a long time coming, with some songs being 10 years old. With this project being more personal to him, he said he wanted to take his time with the songwriting and recording.
