Stea details stories of that harm, and brings the reality of pseudoscientific modalities into harsh relief. And yet this is tempered by a very raw and personal story of the medical establishment, not pseudoscience, failing someone very close to him.

It’s noon on the day after one of AEW’s biggest television shows of the year, Dynamite Grand Slam in Queens, New York City. The ROH world champion, Mark Briscoe, who competed in a wild trios match sometime around 11:00 the previous night, sits on his open porch at home in Delaware, in a red, vintage Nicktoons T-shirt. There’s some noise as he pans his phone’s camera over to the house’s screen door, where a couple of Briscoe’s eight kids are standing.

More than 8,000 wrestling fans had been disappointed when the AEW world champion, Bryan Danielson, hadn’t appeared after his regular entrance music played, as if he might not be able to face his old rival, Nigel McGuinness, for what would have been the first time in almost exactly 15 years.

Infographics are a technological innovation that have revolutionized the news biz — actually for the better, in this case. The best ones help people visualize difficult concepts, or illustrate data that may otherwise feel too abstract. Like any tool, though, infographics can be overused, and applied to topics that don’t really warrant their creation, just because they’re trendy and look cool.
