RICHMOND, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Bluegrass Career and Development Center in Madison County. Authorities say 28-year-old Jarod Barnes walked away from the facility around 6:45 p.m. Sunday. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, black sweatpants, and white tennis shoes. Barnes has several tattoos on his chest and arms, according to investigators.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A man currently in custody in Montgomery County, Kentucky, is now facing a murder charge in connection with a Washington state homicide, according to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say 31-year-old Dariel Nunez Montero was arrested on a murder warrant while already in custody in Kentucky on unrelated charges.

UPDATE: Frankfort police say the missing male juvenile’s body was recovered about 8:45 this morning after being swept away by flood waters in the Hickory Hills area of Frankfort, while walking to his bus stop. FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Gov. Andy Beshear has declared a state of emergency across Kentucky ahead of expected severe weather over the next several days. In a video message, the governor says far western Kentucky faces the greatest risk, including serious concerns about tornadoes, hail, flooding, and strong winds. “If you are not in a safe space for high winds or severe thunderstorms, go stay with someone else tonight,” Beshear said.
